The Mess Behind… Recycled Can Wind Chimes

I’ve always thought these looked cool, and if you’re thinking about trying it, let me save you some drama 🙂

💡 Use primer with acrylic paint and/or paint markers. Layering paint on metal is annoying and paint for metal smells awful.

💡 You can’t just drill a hole in an empty can without denting it. The hole has to be very small to punch through. Or flip it over and use a hammer and spike from inside.

👉 Also, drill before painting, the drill will skip all o er the surface and scrape off paint.

💡 The interior ribbons will just clump together unless you make a framework to separate them inside the can.

🫶 This was my first draft using contrasting colors to show the process. Honestly, it’s a fun craft if you hang the bar low, but if you love the gorgeous ones for sale, support an artist!
